PETS ARE US RESCUE

COMPANY

Founded in 1996 Pets Are Us Rescue has been saving many of the uncommon animals in the pet trade industry. Many of these animals are misunderstood or have grown bigger than expected (iguanas and snakes). We try to educate as much as possible and we are always available to care for these animals. Over the years there have been many people who love these animals and have applied as volunteers. All our volunteers go through a very demanding and grueling process to become a member. They do this with their own money and dedication to these animals. All volunteers have specialized in different areas of the pet industry. We supply as much information as possible about the animal you are adopting!!!
PETS ARE US RESCUE IS A TOTALLY VOLUNTARY ORGANIZATION.
WE HAVE NO PAID EMPLOYEE'S.
Before moving to Texas in 1996 we ran a rescue for more than 10 years called Fluffy Friendly Friends, we worked with exotics and dogs and cats. We placed many unwanted dogs and cats with elderly people who need a companion, all the dogs and cats we placed were house trained up to date on shots-spays/neutered, It was so nice to go back and visit them. We unfortunately do not do dogs and cats down in Texas there may be a special occasion we take in small dogs but it is not our common practice.
Business Philosophy
Try to educate on how important these animals are to the ecological balance. The importance of saving our wildlife for future generations. We are all responsible for saving the endangered species and educating the next generation on the protector and ensure the continuation of a healthy plant and to end the extinction of endangered species!! We will always try our best to help and solve your needs; we understand you can be very afraid of some of the animals. We are here to help not make you feel worse.
Professionalism is important to us and we want to help you understand and protect yourself, your home, and the wildlife around you. People Our volunteers donate their own time, homes, money, expense to help save these beautiful animals. We have no paid employees. Each volunteer does it because they love and respect each and every living thing. All animals are kept in the volunteer’s home; this ensures happier, healthier pets. Give 100% nothing else is acceptable, so our volunteers are very special people. We are proud to have them as volunteers and they are proud to be part of our rescue. If a volunteer is dismissed or removed from our rescue it has to be a very serious offense we do not do this for small offenses. We do not get involved in the politics and cut throat practices of putting down other people or their work, but if you have a question we will give you an honest answer. We want to ensure you get healthy happy animals if we have reliable information negative or positive we will give you an honest straight forth answer. If it doesn't work out with you and the new animal we take it back and wait for the right match for the animal.
Never hesitate to ask us questions about the care etc about any of the animals we work with, we are more than happy to help you.
History
When the owners of Pets Are Us Rescue arrived in Texas they realized there was a great need for a rescue for these animals. They are also trying to educate people the importance of these animals. We have been doing this for more than 10 years and the animals are getting recognized and people are learning to take the time to educate themselves and live with them. We are taking their homes away by building more homes and roads. It is essential that we co-exist and save these animals
Mission/Vision
We would love to see these animals protected and taken care of the same as every animal on our planet. They hold the key to our future. Help us keep this important goal going. Without snakes we would be over run by rodents who carry many diseases and have been know to be responsible for plagues on society. Each animal serves a purpose and they keep each other in check. From the largest to the smallest each has a unique purpose. We must protect our environment for the future.

If you have any feedback on how we can make our new website better please do contact us. We would like to hear from you.

Our rescue is available all over the USA and Canada. Each satellite works as an individual rescue. They follow the guidelines put forth to them by us. We do not have a facility all animals are cared for in our homes. This ensures better pets! Our volunteers specialize in different types of animals. We are also a teaching rescue anyone is welcome to join and learn but you must be 18 years of age to volunteer or adopt from our rescue. We believe in natural rehab as much as possible, no matter which method is used vet, or natural both are very time consuming and expensive.

WE DO NOT GET ANY OF OUR VET SERVICES FOR FREE!
We pay just like everyone else does!
We are forever holding fundraising events to raise money to cover our vet bills and we just pray for the rest!
And no matter what the vet bills are we pay them out of our own pockets.
Any and all pet donation is a tax deductible donation to you and will be applied toward the vet bill, animals food, supplies etc.
We rely "entirely" on foster homes, and your donations.
We have animals in foster care in with our volunteers
Due to the fact our animals are brought up and taken care of in our homes gives them a better chance to be loving, great pets. The pets we deal with are animals that are very misunderstood by many, it takes a special person to care for these animals.
We are here to answer any questions or comments you may have. We welcome any and all comments.
We are proud of the work we do and these special animals mean the world to us. We have many sleepless nights caring for animals. Getting calls from the police to remove a wild snake from someone's home or yard.
The rewards are worth every minute!

Aphroditee passes away on July 1, 2005 from old age, she was very special to us! She was rescued from a Petco where no one had a clue how to care for her. She was an adult and lived another 5 plus years with our main office. She will be missed.

We have some very sad news!
On May 6, 2006 our mascot Baby succumbed to old age and went to the rainbow bridge. Baby had been with us for 10 years from 1996 till yesterday. This is one of the hardest letters for us to write. Baby was part of our family, she was loved, spoiled, and had a special place in our hearts. She liked to watch my husband wash dishes, she sat on his shoulders. Baby did not like mirrors she would rear up and give a real nasty look to the iggy in the mirror.
We received Baby from a pet store nobody wanted her she came with a cage mate Iggy who passed over the bridge several years ago. We took them in and they were just the perfect iguanas. Over the next few years Baby did educational shows with us she loved entertaining the crowds and she loved the kids. On the way to an educational show she would ride on the dash of the car we received some of the strangest looks from other drivers. That was Baby's spot and she took many rides with us, she went all over with us just enjoying the scenery. As Baby got older she retired to a life of riley! We have a son that is challenged and the two of them were best buddies they hid in the kitchen cabinet together. Trevor always had a hiding spot for. The day before she passed she enjoyed having a nice warm bath with Blinky and they chowed on their fresh greens and veggies and a little treat.
We knew her health was declining and knew we would have to make a decision eventually!
Baby just went to sleep it was a shock she was interactive in the morning and early afternoon. We went over to give them their good night misting and Baby was gone!!!!
This letter is written as tears stream down my face!
Baby taught us so much and loved everyone! Baby will remain our mascot. Please remember her in your thoughts today.
Thank you
Noreen
